Application Support Analyst (Banking)

  • Responsible for providing Level 2 production application support for payment systems (including overseas and domestic remittance, cheque payments, local interbank transfers such as GIRO, FAST, MEPS+, etc.) across the APAC region.
  • Involvement in implementing preventive and detective measures, ensuring root cause analysis is conducted for applications.
  • Involvement in planning, manage production transitions for new system launches, and handle system change requests.
  • Identify process gaps, propose system improvements, standardize processes through implementation and integration strategies, and recommend automation to optimize operational efficiency and system performance.
  • Lead and coordinate projects, supporting system enhancements, fixes, and emergency application changes, providing analytical support and conducting requirement analysis.
  • Identify and escalate risks and issues to stakeholders promptly, contribute to system restoration during Disaster Recovery exercises, and lead regular meetings with developers and vendors to resolve issues efficiently.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Application or System Support, preferably in a banking or financial institution.
  • Hands-on experience in supporting Payment Systems.
  • Experience in Enterprise Application support environments, with cross-functional interaction between developers, infrastructure teams, service desks, and business users.
  • Functional knowledge of Payment systems such as GIRO, FAST, CTS, MEPS+, Overseas & Domestic Remittance, Internet Banking, and customer eAdvices.
  • Technical expertise in applications hosted on both Windows and Linux platforms, including proficiency in database querying (SQL Server, Oracle) and managing services in both environments.
  • Strong understanding and competency in scripting (e.g., DOS, Shell Scripting).
