Senior IT Project Team Manager (Permanent, Banking)

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers within respective applications, ensuring effective project execution, professional development, and overseeing the teams IT budget management.
  • Provide status reporting to top management regarding project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies, manage a portfolio of complex initiatives spanning multiple lines of business, and assist IT leadership in developing annual work and resource plans.
  • Ensure the program aligns with and supports strategic objectives, while monitoring, tracking, and controlling outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Collaborate with IT partners to identify and support technology-driven innovation initiatives, work closely with stakeholders to facilitate the Minimum Viable Product, including deployment, testing, and validation, and stay abreast of emerging technology trends by engaging with vendors to assess the suitability of new solutions.
  • Continually manage stakeholder expectations through governance processes, deliver effective executive-level communication, and understand the interdependencies between technology and business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Over 15 years of experience, preferably within the Banking and Finance industry and Technology environments, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Extensive experience in system development, including the creation of functional and technical specifications, as well as a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrates highly effective communication skills with both non-technical and technical stakeholders, coupled with strong negotiation and vendor project management expertise.
  • Possesses advanced problem-solving, analytical, synthesis, and systems thinking abilities, while being a confident and self-aware leader capable of operating with high independence, articulating complex issues clearly, and providing actionable recommendations; excels in executive-level communication, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven expertise in full end-to-end project management in a leadership capacity, with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification considered a plus, and experience in vendor product management viewed as an added advantage.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively multitask and perform under pressure, while adapting to unexpected changes in expectations or requirements, and excels in both unsupervised work and collaborative team environments, managing deadlines efficiently.
