Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Radiation Oncology department, including the roster and management of clinic staff, scheduling of clinics, and coordination of treatment protocols.
- Supervise clinic staff and support a multidisciplinary team, including radiation therapists, dosimetrists, medical physicists, and administrative staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations of clinic staff, facilitate professional development, and help ensure radiotherapy centre compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Ensure efficient and effective departmental workflows to enable a seamless patient journey. This includes overseeing the patient referral, appointment booking, and financial counselling processes.
- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team and serve as the main point of contact for different departments for clinical service development and implementation
- Manage department budgets, including staffing, equipment, and supplies. Monitor and optimize resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations without compromising quality of care.
- Implement and maintain quality control programs in accordance with national and international standards. Oversee audits, monitor treatment outcomes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure department adherence to all relevant regulations, including radiation safety standards, medical record-keeping, and accreditation requirements. Serve as the point of contact for external audits and inspections.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the department’s strategic goals. Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement in service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Oversee the maintenance of radiation oncology equipment. Collaborate with IT and biomedical engineering teams to ensure the integration and functionality of advanced technologies
- End-to-end project management for radiation oncology equipment upgrades and/or replacements
- Liaise with stakeholders within the department and other departments for technology enablement
- Manage and engage vendors in equipment maintenance, technology evaluations and facilitate the procurement process.
- Ensure accurate data collection and reporting for clinical outcomes, operational metrics, and financial performance. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and operational improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety within the department, ensuring all staff adhere to best practices for radiation protection and patient care. Address any patient safety concerns promptly and effectively.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Radiation Therapy, Medical Physics, or a related field is an advantage. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in radiation oncology or a related healthcare field will be an advantage
- At least 1-3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
