Our client is a fast growing and expanding shipbroking house. Currently, they are seeking a candidate who is enthusiastic and self driven to join them as “Trainee Shipbroker (LPG)”.

This role will primarily be tasked with the following responsibilities :

• Work alongside experienced Brokers to help strengthen relationships with existing clients for sales and help develop new businesses
• Act as an intermediary/negotiator between shipowners and charterers to arrange freight transportation
• Understudy and hands-on operational aspects of a Charter party
• Maintain databases and market information and reports for clients
• Support the day-to-day activities of the Senior Brokers
• Establish and maintain effective relationships internally and externally
• Prepare reports and analysis for existing/incoming customers
• Help to manage internal data flow of key market information
• Attend meetings and events with clients where required
• Carry out post fixture support in a prompt and efficient manner

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Maritime Studies or related fields
• 1 to 2 years working experience in tanker companies in similar or any other capacity. 
• Also open to entry level candidates who newly graduate with a Maritime background
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Personable and engaging
• Good commercial judgement with good negotiation skills
• Strong numeracy skills and excellent presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
• Driven, self-motivated and client focused
• Confident and able to work well under pressure
• Strong MS office skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
