The GMP Group ushered in the new Monkey year with a wonderful "lou hei" session as well as buffet lunch at the new office. On top of that, a traditional lion dance performance was organised to play up the festive moods. Staff were all smiles as the lions and a cheerful "Cai Shen Ye" went around the office space.
It was a bittersweet day last Christmas Eve. All the staff at GMP had dressed up in festive colours of red and green. A buzz of excitement was in the air. Not only was the office Christmas party that day, but it was also the last day at the old One Raffles Place office (we have since moved into our new office space at One Finlayson Green, just a 5 minutes walk from Raffles Place MRT Station). The office was filled with moving boxes and the walls and cabinets, once filled to the brim, were now bare. Everyone was still busy though, making sure that nothing will be left behind. The party was a memorable one, in particular the Secret Santa gift exchange. We ended the day with a group photo, the last one in the office which had served us well for the past many years. Nonetheless, onwards to new beginnings!
Last Wednesday (11 November 2015), the office staff enjoyed fresh cut fruit as a healthy snack. As part of a new initiative set by the HR team, freshly cut fruit (papaya, watermelon, honeydew and pineapple) are delivered every other month, neatly packed in individual cups for our staff to enjoy during tea time. Fruit is naturally low in energy, fat, and salt and are also wonderful sources of fibre and many vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals - natural components in fruit and vegetables that offer health benefits beyond nutrition (Source: http://www.hpb.gov.sg/HOPPortal/health-article/2648). This initiative has been met with warm welcome, with some coming back for seconds!
Healthy employees. Happy employees.
The Singapore Entrepreneurs’ Award is a prestigious business accolade which recognises the entrepreneurial elite in Singapore and beyond.
This year, GMP was nominated and along with other local SMEs, received the prestigious award at the ceremony held on 20 March 2015 at Marina Bay Sands.
Leading up to the award ceremony, advertising for the award and its winners were seen all around Raffles Place MRT station platforms during the month of March.
We will strive for more awards in the coming years!
To appreciate all GMP staffs and their efforts for the past year, the annual Dinner & Dance dubbed “GMP
Appreciation Night 2015” was held at Ban Heng Restaurant on 6 February 2015.
Upon arrival, GMPians were greeted with a fun photo booth, complete with fun props of their choosing. Then it was again picture time in front of the GMP photo wall.
Our colleagues from GSI Hong Kong, Isabella Tan, as well as GSI Thailand’s Nonglak Thanarak also joined us in the fun that night.
With the theme being “Oscar Night”, it was one filled with much joy and laughter with each
division/ department performing a scene from a movie they had chosen (e.g. Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Despicable Me, etc.). Also, prizes worth more than $4,000 were given out that night!
It was definitely a night to remember and we look forward to the next one!
